Aaron Pillar – Interview

Aaron was interviewed by the Oklahoma Daily, which is the student run paper for the University of Oklahoma.  Its a short interview and can be found here.

Money quote:

You guys are playing through your “Low Level Owl” albums this tour. What’s prompted that?

We thought about the [10-year] anniversary of it and everything, and we saw some bands playing festivals and doing a specific album and seeing how that seemed to work pretty well. I thought that vibe made sense — it all kind of clicked in that way.

Yeah, then there’s a part of me that made it seem contrived, but then I thought, ‘I want to see Sonic Youth play “Daydream Nation” or The Pixies play “Doolittle.” I want to see every song on my favorite record.’ What we’re going for is to make our fans happy, cause the only reason we’re doing this is cause of them.

Oh, and the above picture is of the state bird of Oklahoma, the scissor-tailed flycatcher.  Its important that we know that.
